The Midnight Company

They arrived without fanfare.
No banners. No heralds. No names spoken aloud.

Only the quiet certainty that something had changed.

For years, the roads between settlements have grown… uncertain.
Caravans vanish without sign.
Watchfires burn low, then not at all.
And those who travel alone speak of being followed - though nothing is ever seen.

It is said that when the world begins to tilt toward darkness,
something answers.

Not knights. Not heroes.
Something older.

They do not gather in the open.
They are not summoned.

And yet, they are always where they are needed most - standing at the edge of the firelight, just beyond the reach of comfort.

Watching.

Waiting.

The first of them will be revealed soon.
